DUBAI – The UAE Ministry of Interior has on Thursday disparaged tales of changes to UAE’s visa and residence laws.
He said no amendments have been made, Khaleej Times reported.
The minister took to his official Instagram account to say that such rumours doing the rounds on social media were completely baseless.
Of late, rumours had been doing the rounds that the government had modified visa rules for Pakistanis and Bangladeshis, and this resulted in thousands of queries landing in Khaleej Times mailboxes seeking clarification.
The ministry also urged the public not to rely on unofficial statements on social media and informed that all official policy changes will be announced directly by the government.
The ministry also warned people spreading these rumours, and said such rumour mongers will be prosecuted for cyber-crime.
