KARACHI – The Supreme Court (SC) has SC called for resolving the issue of Manchar Lake contamination and directed Sindh government to submit report within a month.
The SC has rejected the task force made by the Sindh government and asked to reconstruct it till Friday.
While hearing a case regarding mixture of polluted water in the Manchar Lake, the SC directed the federal and provincial government to solve the problem.
Justice Qazi Faez Isa says Federal and provincial are not ready to work, adding nobody is interested to work but constitution has the solution to all the problems.
The court noted that solutions are brought for all problems in democratic governments.
Deputy Attorney General argued Sindh government is not ready to give their share of funds.
The person who destroyed the lake was included in the task force and patience of the court is turning over due to government inefficiency, Justice Qazi Isa said.
The court called Director General environmental agency is the most inefficient person, who is eating the public money.
“Employments are given on the basis of relations in the government, Justice Essa laments.
The court said that the problems of Karachi continue to worsen while Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Mutahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) are at a dagger draw.
Further, Justice Amir Hani says the court will call Sindh Chief Minister and the Prime Minister if this problem was not solved.
