ISLAMABAD – MPA Balochistan Abdul Majeed Achakzai, who was arrested on charges of killing a traffic warden in Quetta in a hit-and-run accident on June 20, does not even possess a valid driving license.
This was revealed in IGP Balochistan Ahsan Mehboob’s a three-page report submitted to the apex court.
The also stated that at the time of the accident, Achakzai himself was driving the vehicle.
On June 28, Chief Justice of Pakistan Saqib Nisar had taken notice of the killing of the police officer and directed Mehboob to file a report.
The IGP further stated that on June 24, Achakzai was taken into custody by police from his residence in Satellite Town, Quetta.
He was produced before a judicial magistrate the same day and remanded in police custody for five days.
He is also wanted in another case registered at the Satellite Town police station.
