SARGODHA – Anti-Terrorism Court in Sargodha accepted MNA Jamshed Dasti’s bail plea and released him from the jail, Pakistantribe.com reported.
PakistanTehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) legal team under former PP Senator Babar Awan filed a bail plea for him in ATC Sargodha.
According to reports, scores of counsels turned up at the court premises to represent the politician.
According to Samaa News, his cases were shifted to Sargodha from Muzaffargarh. The Awami Raj Party was in remand for different cases including water theft. The court heard his bail plea and announced the verdict in favour of the parliamentarian.
He also thanked the judicial system of the country for taking notice of his case.
The parliamentarian claimed that he was being tortured and starved by police in Multan Central Jail.
Dasti accused that he had been severely beaten by police and deprived of food for many days, adding that rats and scorpions were released into his jail cell to “torture” him.
