MUZAFFARGARH – Member National Assembly (MNA) Jamshed Dasti on Friday observed a hunger strike against the ‘rude behavior’ of the jail staff and a ban on meetings with him.

He refused to take the Sehri food and did the same at the Iftar time.

The jail administration is holding talks to convince the MNA to end the hunger strike.

Dasti was arrested on June 8 and he has been allowed to meet only two lawyers.

Another case has been registered against the MNA Jamshed Dasti for allegedly holding illegal arms.

The case was registered in the Chowk Sarwar Shaheed police station for allegedly holding illegal weapons.

According to media reports, a case have been registered against him for holding G-3 gun, of which permit has expired, while 15 bullets were also recovered from his possession.

The police says permit of G-3, the gun was issued on December 30, 2014, and it expired on December 29, 2015, however, it has not been renewed as of yet. A case was registered against him on the basis of that.

Dasti was arrested last week along with Meharpur Union Council (UC) Chairman Malik Ajmal by Punjab police for forcibly opening canal in Muzaffargarh.

It is vital to mention here that there are four cases registered against Dasti, and in three cases he has been granted bail.
