SRINAGAR – Human Rights Watch body has criticized the procedure adopted by the Indian Army to curb the recent wave of protests in the Indian-held Kashmir.

The International body raised the questions over the event in which a civilian was tied to the front of the jeep and used as a human shield.

Major Gogoi has tied a civilian with the Army vehicle to avoid the stones coming from protesters on April 9, 2017, in a Budgam area during the Indian Parliamentary by-elections in Kashmir.

The Major was awarded by the Army Chief due to his ‘successful’ method to avoid stone hitters, many Indian nationals protested over the decision of Army Chief.

“The army chief’s action undermines accountability and the stature of the military,” it added, as quoted by Pakistan Today.

Meanwhile, one Indian soldier was killed and five other injured in the recent attack of Mujahidin in Indian-held Kashmir.
