LAHORE – Education Minister for Punjab Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan said Friday that as many as eighty thousand teachers would be recruited this year.
While speaking to media, he said that the number of primary teaching posts has been increased from two to four in every government school.
Mashhood also added that the female candidates would also be eligible for recruitment in boys’ schools on merit.
The CEOs have been directed to prepare merit lists without any further delay so that the process of recruitment and training of educators could be started as soon as possible.
He said this while presiding over a meeting that was held at Committee Room of Schools Education Department, here today.
The Minister said that government is committed to expediting the education promotion at the grassroots level so that a 100 per cent enrolment target could be achieved by 2018.
It is hoped, the minister said, that the recruitment of eighty thousand educators would further expedite the process of education promotion, he added.
