ISLAMABAD – The federal government has on Wednesday announced three-day holidays for the government employees on Eid ul Fitr 2017.
According to the schedule, the holidays will be observed from June 26 to 28 June.
A notification has been issued in this regard.
However, the federal government employees will be able to enjoy five holidays.

According to Met Department, Eid al-Fitr 2017 in Pakistan is on Monday, the 26th of June (26/6/2017).

Note that in the Muslim calendar, a holiday begins on the sunset of the previous day, so observing Muslims will celebrate Eid al-Fitr on the sunset of Sunday, the 25th of June.

Although Eid al-Fitr is always on the same day of the Islamic calendar, the date on the Gregorian calendar varies from year to year, since the Gregorian calendar is a solar calendar and the Islamic calendar is a lunar calendar.

This difference means Eid al-Fitr moves in the Gregorian calendar approximately 11 days every year. The date of Eid al-Fitr may also vary from country to country depending on whether the moon has been sighted or not.
