KARACHI – The State Bank of Pakistan has ordered all the banks to remain open on the June 3oth, Sunday.
The SBP directed its designated branches and those of the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) to remain open on June 30 to facilitate taxpayers to deposit their duty and taxes in the last days of the fiscal year 2016-17.
“In order to facilitate the collection of Government duties/taxes, commercial banks will remain open their clearing related branches on June 30, 2017 (Friday) until such time that is necessary to facilitate two special clearings arranged for Government transactions,” SBP said in a statement.
It is pertinent to mention here that the on June 30, Sunday; it will most likely be the Chand Raat (the eve of Eid 2017). All the government offices besides the banks will enjoy the holiday.
The bank employees are likely to avail their vacation after the Eid.
